· Work closely with the Carrier Sales Manager to book freight and assign carriers to available freight ensuring on time performance is met.   · Build relationships with carriers to understand needs and secure utilization of carrier assets.   · Analyze and negotiate rates with carriers based on current market prices.   · React with sense of urgency to solve problems and look for ways to improve operational inefficiencies from inbound calls.   · Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls to book loads when carriers are not calling in on them.   · Dispatch drivers to shippers and receivers based on customer needs.   · Work with the entire operations team to provide the best customer service to customers.   · Provide detailed directions and instructions to properly route drivers to ensure on-time pick ups and delivers for customers.   · Update Account Managers on any issues that arise throughout the life of a load and look for solutions for those problems.   · Ensure all operations are reviewed before leaving or assigns to the appropriate personnel.   · Be able to multitask and provide customer service to our carriers and customers alike.     Professional: · Maintain a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of ATG-KC and demonstrate a commitment to high professional ethical standards.   · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by remaining flexible and handling change with ease.   · Set the expectation / lead by example in all aspects.   · Demonstrate efficient time management skills by being punctual and reliable.   · Keep work area clean, don't expect others to pick up after you.   · Display effective communications skills for both verbal and written correspondence, ensuring all communication is respectful, professional, and polite.   · Answer telephone calls from drivers, vendors, DCs, SSC and other external sources.   · Work with drivers to ensure they understand the delivery documentation , call stores when the delivery is late, monitor load dispatch assignments, and review load optimizing.  
Minimum Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Data entry skills
  • Ability to coordinate high volume phone calls (60-80 phone calls per day)
Preferred Requirements
  • Transportation and 3rd party dispatch experience in sourcing and developing carriers
  • Negotiation skills
